This train commemorates this special almost 40 exactly years on and all moneys raised with go the the Help the Heroes charity.

The train departs diesel hauled from London Paddington behind a Royal Class 67 locomotive for Hereford. Then 6024 will retrace the inaugural journey taken by 6000 travelling from Hereford via the Severn Tunnel, Badminton and Oxford to Birmingham Snow Hill. After a couple of hours in the city 60163 Tornado will take the train from Birmingham Snow Hill back to Paddington.
